EHTP Statement on Atlanta Shootings

East Harlem Tutorial Program (EHTP) strongly condemns the murders committed last night in Atlanta, another in a series of racist incidents that is inflicting trauma on Asian communities in the United States. We send our deepest condolences to the loved ones of the eight people killed in last night's attacks, which included six Asian women, and stand in solidarity with Asian and Asian-American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) people at this critical time.

As an organization striving to ground our work in anti-racist practices, we renew our call to demand change, and reach out and listen to members of the Asian and AAPI communities. This includes our own Asian staff and scholars, who will have ample space for discussion and healing.

In addition, EHTP's Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees are joining together to make a significant financial donation today to Stop AAPI Hate. We urge all those who can to support their work.
