Hurricane Fiona in Puerto Rico, September 2022

Almost five years to the day, Puerto Rico is yet again dealing with the extreme environmental consequences of structural racism in the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona. To everyone on the Island and families concerned about loved ones on the Island and in the path of Hurricane Fiona - we hold you all in the hearts of everyone here at EHTP and East Harlem Scholars Academies. We especially hold in our hearts the community of Barrio Playa and our partners at Team Playa. Barrio Playa experienced severe flooding, the loss of homes, and potentially more. EHTP is working with our partners to identify how to be most helpful and will contribute to the relief efforts. We will share more avenues to support shortly.
