Charles and Karen Phillips’ non-profit, Phillips Charitable Organizations (PCO), has generously contributed $250,000 to East Harlem Tutorial Program in sponsorship of our University Program Robotics program. We are so grateful and honored by the gift, which will allow us to bring high-quality engineering programs to even more students in East Harlem!
We are excited to announce that our application to the SUNY Trustees to open a new K-12 public charter school, East Harlem Scholars Academy Charter School II, has been approved! Scholars Academy II will open for the 2013-14 academic year with 108 students in Grades K and 1, ultimately growing to serve K-12. The school will have an enrollment preference for English Language Learners in CSD 4 and other residents of CSD 4.
Like its sister school, Scholars Academy, the new school will be an achievement-driven, nurturing environment where students receive intensive literacy, math, and science education to prepare them for a successful college career. The new school will be located in CSD 4 in the East Harlem community. Apply now!
